Full Description

Day 1

Aksaray-Uchisar-Goreme-Avanos

Avanos

Avanos is a significant historical and touristic district in Nevsehir. There are many historical monuments for the Muslim world in the district, where there are also historical buildings especially for Christians. Old buildings, cultural centers, and valleys, which attract the attention of tourists, bring the district to the fore in this area.

Saratlı Karagoz

Saratli Karagoz Underground City attracts more and more attention from tourists coming to Cappadocia with its safety gates made of millstones, which are sliding inside and carved in a way that outsiders cannot understand. Saratli is an important living area from the Roman period. The first Christians took refuge in the Cappadocia region to get rid of Roman persecution, and they built the underground city to protect them from wars. They lived together in Saratli, sometimes for a week, sometimes for a month, until the danger was gone.

Uchisar Castle

The highest point and windiest place in Nevsehir, Cappadocia, where you can hug the clouds, is Uchisar Castle! Especially if the sunset is close, we recommend that you not miss the fairy chimneys painted in the red of the sun and the riot of colors reflected from the valley. Uchisar Castle is also called the "eye of Cappadocia," probably because it shows the whole region from the snowy head of Erciyes, the highest mountain in Anatolia, to Mount Hasan. The castle, which was used for both concealment and defense by the first Christians fleeing the persecution of the Romans, was also used as a watchtower during the Seljuks.

Fairy Chimneys

There is a rumor that in ancient times, monks were secluded in the region. While this information was only a rumor before you came to this region, once you enter the Priests' Valley, you realize that it is very true. Because this region of Cappadocia is the most quiet and peaceful, you can sit here for hours without even talking.

Day 2

Goreme - Aksaray - Seydişehir - Antalya

Goreme Open Air Museum

B.C. IV. from the XIII century, Goreme Open Air Museum. It is a rock settlement that hosted an intense monastic life until the 19th century. In the area that forms a valley, churches, chapels, dining halls, and sitting areas are carved into the rock blocks. While the geometric ornaments used in the early periods of Christianity in churches can be seen in the first paint layers, the frescoes made in later dates are the Bible and the Prophet. It depicts scenes from the life of Jesus. In Goreme Open Air Museum, you can see the Girls and Boys Monastery, St. Basileus Church, Elmalı Church, St. Barbara Church, Yılanlı Church, Dark Church, Çarıklı Church, and Tokalı Church.

Sultanhanı Caravanserai

Sultanhanı, which was built by Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I between 1232-1236, underwent extensive restoration in 2007-2010.
